Calli is a “Double Merle,” Australian Shepherd. 2 weeks after her adoption, Calli was diagnosed with Megaesophagus, a condition that is generally incurable, and often fatal. Part of her esophagus is enlarged and does not function correctly. Food and water don’t make it to her stomach for digestion. Dogs often die from this condition because of either malnutrition or aspiration pneumonia. Calli is a spirited survivor who provides us with joy and unconditional love. This is her story.

My New Shades
